Product Overview and Characteristics
Piperidine, also known as hexahydropyridine or azinane, is an important organic compound. It is miscible with water and soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol, diethyl ether, acetone, and benzene. Piperidine is an important fine chemical intermediate with a wide range of applications. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to manufacture local anesthetics, analgesics, bactericides, etc.; in organic synthesis, it is used as a condensing agent, catalyst, and solvent; it is a key synthetic raw material for the plant growth regulator mepiquat chloride. In addition, piperidine is also used in the production of epoxy resin curing agents, rubber vulcanization accelerators, and wetting agents, and can be used as an analytical reagent. It is also listed as a permitted food flavoring under GB 2760.
